Has anyone disassembled an Uzi pro lower before? I have never worked on one, just had one come in and i can’t seem to figure out how to disassemble it to pull the fire control group out. The grip safety has to slide back just like any other uzi to pull the sear and trigger, but can’t see how to remove it. There’s a punch hole on the rear of grip safety but doesn’t seem to release anything, are these not “serviceable” ?

It's actually much easier than it looks. With the sear released, you can just tap the sear pin out from the right side. After you release the trigger spring legs from the underside of the disconnector, you can push the trigger pin out from the left side. Then the trigger and trigger safety come out and the grip safety bar can be lifted straight up.

I tried this. You can’t get the pins past the grip safety bar. On the micros you slide the grip bar back so the pins line up with the notches and they slide out. On the pro, you can’t move the grip bar backwards at all to do this. Maybe the first gen pros you could do this? The one I have here you cannot

This notch circled here is for the trigger pin to pass through. And the sear pin passes the very front of the bar for removal. Not being able to slide the bar backwards at all at all makes this impossible

You have to drill out the pin in the grip safety so it can move rewards enough align the notch, it's super soft metal so the pin shouldn't spin in the plastic.
It's not in the diagram posted above but if you look at its there. Since there are no clamshell grips to hold the safety they used the pin.
I forget if it's a blind hole.

On second thought, looking at it again, there’s still no room for it to move back even doing that. The rear of the bar bottoms out on the takedown pin support. Must have to clearance that and the opening to get it to move back about 1/8 inch. That’s all I need to get the pins out

Hmm lemme look later today at a disassembled one for you, I'm working off memory. Happy to take any pictures if you need.

Mine came out exactly as I described above. No drilling or clearanceing parts. Here's a photo.

They must have made changes. I’ve messed with this one for hours. There is no way for the pins to clear the bar, with the bar all the way to the back it hits on the takedown pin support not allowing the fcg pins to clear the bar

It's possible, but seems unlikely. As you noted, the grip safety bar is constrained by the moulded pieces of the grip frame. Nothing else constrains it, like the grips did on the old guns. The grip safety bar had to drop in before the pins went in during the original assembly.

I’ve twisted and turned and beat on the pins. They will not make it past the grip safety bar no matter the position of the pins or the bar. It doesn’t make sense

It’s almost like they formed the rear takedown pin support after the bar was in. Which doesn’t make sense

Ok, so it’s hard to see in the pics, but the first gen rear takedown pin support is about .025” narrower than the newer pro model (one with the QR code on side of receiver) this is what’s keeping the grip safety bar from going back far enough to get the pins out. I think a little shave with the dremel will solve this. Not sure why it’s like this, maybe it’s a fluke, or maybe they changed it ever so slight to make them “unserviceable” either way, dumb, but I can work around it now that I see the issue
You can see the difference in the gap to the support. Pic 1 is a very early low serial. Pins for fcg come right out. Pic 2 is the newer problem child

Took .025 off the front of the rear takedown pin support, pins came right out. Was definitely the issue. Still very curious if this was done on purpose to make them unserviceable

Very interesting, but it seems like we're still missing something. There had to be some way to assemble it in the first place without cutting off some of the plastic.
