Good Evening!
Long time lurker and first time poster here. Thank you all for the wealth of knowledge you have provided!

I have an SBR Uzi that I would like to attach the QD stock to. Right now it has the folding stock. When I took off the folding stock to add the QD wood stock the nub on the back of the wood stock presses in the butt stock nut that sticks out for use with the folding stock. I tried to remove the butt stock nut but that will cause the firing pin spring to come out the back of the receiver if I remove the qd stock.

Sorry for the confusion! I guess what I am asking is can I install the qd stock while the butt stock nut that is used for folding stock is still in place. Thank you for your help and take care!

Thank you very much for the info! The link explained attaching a fixed stock using the QD stock as the base but I want to just run the QD stock not a permanent modification so I can take it on and off for storage. Your idea of using a thin square plate that will cover the hole is a great idea! How was this accomplished in the regular military issued SMG? Also I notice on the bottom of the QD stock a spring loaded round plug that does not line up with any holes in the receiver. Was this just there to add pressure to the receiver to make the stock more ridged? Thanks again!

I drilled a hole in the stock so I could keep the nut/insert there.
A larger hole, then a smaller hole inside of that.
It came out very nicely. The semi buffer keeps the nut in place.

The SMG is open bolt and only has one spring, which doesn't line up with the hole so it's not an issue. It's only the semi-auto with the additional striker spring that has this issue. The spring-loaded plunger on the mounting bracket of the stock is just for pressure and doesn't line up with anything in particular on the gun.

I think the short-answer is 'no'. What you are experiencing is 'by design' for the Semi's with the QD stock. Just be careful to disassemble in the right order to remove the bolt before you pull the QD stock.

I encountered the same problem with my SA. I just installed the QD wood stock first and used it as the stop for the spring. A spacer works better and is more professional though.

Thank you for all the great replies and ideas! I decided follow cajun22's idea to make a metal tab. I cut it to fit inside the existing hole of the buffer and blued it. Should it cause any problems then I'll make a another large one that mimics the profile of the buffer and will install that behind the buffer up against the receiver. Attached is a picture. Thank you again!!!

Eugene thank you for the reply! I though about that and worried that overtime the little nub sticking into the sling and sticker area over time would get beat up. I also worried the extra tension on the spring might cause cycling issues. I run really light load 147gr subs in everything and didn't want to change the load just for one gun. Thanks again for the reply!
