Just got my tax stamp and picked up my Vector full size Uzi. Using WWB 115 grain and Federal 115 grain I can't get a full mag thru the gun without a round jamming against face of the bolt driving bullet into the case jamming it up. Any ideas why?

Got a pic of the jam?

Right or left side or jamming randomly?

My experience with WWB 115 gr ammo is that it is at the bottom end of functioning the Uzi (both full auto, full size and semi auto, mini). Thus, you may not be getting a full stroke which could potentially produce erratic feeding. FWIW, in my experience, Remington UMC green box and some gun store reloads are also poor functioning. If the trunnion is okay (e.g., not loose or crooked), I'd try a better grade of ammo. ETA: I have not had problems with Federal American Eagle 115 gr. ammo, though. And trying different mags is a good idea. The ammo exit angle can differ depending on how the lips are shaped.
Best of luck.
MHO, YMMV, etc. Be well.

I had the same issue with my MP40.. The magazine lips were to close. I first replaced the springs. Then I measured the lips on a magazine that functioned. I used that measurement as the basis for the rest. I then made an adjustment to the rest of my magazines and they all function 100%. I find that the newer uzipro mags work the best rather than dealing with surplus mags that can be hit or miss.. good luck!!

My gunsmith has it at the range today. He's a FA Uzi owner and very skilled. I'm just disappointed it doesn't work as described when purchased.

If you can show a pic of the jam I can help. I had a similar issue with my two Uzis and fixed them myself just by replacing parts. Also definitely use 124gr and hold the gun tight!

Is it a new in the box gun? My gun needed a new bolt , I think it had a group industries bolt in it from Vector. 124 Nato spec ammo is the best to run if you can find it. That said it runs Winchester White box 115 grain fine .

Yes Vector SMG are Open Bolt guns, a NIB Vector is the last one I would want to buy because all the the flaws in it have not been fixed. Most any Vector that has been getting shot is all up to snuff after all these years of use now.

It's not a NIB Vector and gunsmith initial examination he said it was dry and to use 124 grain ammo. But sh*t your lucky to find any ammo. I always thought Uzi's would feed anything. I've also been looking for a spare bolt with no luck.

No such thing as a blowback firearm that feeds anything. They use recoil energy to cycle, ergo necessary power level is a range. You're either within or not.

That said, a change of spring tension, bolt, barrel, eieio might give better results at the fringes of the range.

There's also the well-documented mechanical/structural stuff, mentioned by others.

I would think SMG bolts should be relatively easy to find, semi parts are the unicorn parts. There are some on GB right now.

A mini uzi bolt is quite a bit lighter. It may increase your ROF, but it should also make it more reliable with lighter loads too.
