I've had my Versa for a while now and I really like it. A lot. But the rate of fire seemed a bit slow for me and slightly choppy/jumpy so I got some of the VBS buffer blocks to speed things up. I had a chance to try them out yesterday and I wanted to post my experience for those who are thinking about getting them.
First off they are different in length and in shape than the VBSs from the Max-31 so you do need to get the new ones if you have the 31. Lage says that a stock gun ROF is 530, with one VBS it's 540 rpm, with two VBSs it's 670 rpm, and with three it's 930 rpm. I don't have any way to measure that but it sure sounds right from my shooting yesterday.
I'm using 115 grain Blazer brass ammo which I understand is also what Lage uses for their testing. I put one block in and it seemed about the same as stock. I put a second one in and it ran noticeably faster. It was nice. I put the third one in and it ran much faster. Almost too fast. There was little time between each round going off and the magazine emptied quickly. I went back to two blocks and it was in the sweet spot of having the rounds fire (recoil) and the bolt moving so that the gun seemed well balanced and smooth. I'm leaving it that way.
If you get a Versa you might want to consider getting a couple of the VBS blocks to try.
