Versa Soumi push button slop

Hey Guys,

Got the new lage versa 11 upper and chose the Suomi push button mag well. I like it a lot. I also love stripper clips which is why I went this route. I’m sure other mag wells work fine. 1000 rounds, different flavors of factory round nose all have the same problem with any of the 10 unmodified mags I have. The only way I can get it to feed is to have my non firing hand to push the mag in the mag well forward to get the right alignment. Otherwise it’s every other round a failure to feed. Has anyone noticed this? I’m trying to figure out how to tighten up this slop. Works perfect if I’m pushing mag forward while I shoot, but feels awkward since I’m using the firing hand to pull into my shoulder.

I could switch to another mag well and I’m sure that would fix the problem. However I definitely want the stripper clips and Suomi mags.

Anyone got any hot tips?

Hi. I don't have a versa but in other magwells I've used some double sided tape and a shim to take up room. If things worked well I'd bond a shim in place. Initial shims can be made (depending on the gap) from card stock to shirt cardboard.

I guess suppose I need to put it on the back, only trouble is mag well catch is the back. I need to do some mental pushups here

I had the same problem but worse. With the Soumi mags I got NO feeding at all. But with the Glock mag well I had the opposite, no problems at all.

I sent the Soumi back to Lage along with some of my mags and they had no problem!!!!!!!!!! I just got them back and will have to try it out again but that won't be for another week or two. Is it my lower???? I don't know until I try it. It's kinda weird.

I will say that the VERSA upper is the ultimate accessory for the MAC guns. It makes it a totally modern SMG: Great ergonomics, light weight, great ROF. Get on the list!!!!

I can make a tighter fitting magazine well, but then the mag’s may not drop free when you release them.

ColtCollector: is this happening with the Suomi Drum adapter (V11SD) when using stick mags, or with one of the Suomi Stick mag modules (V11SSPB or V11SS)? if it is happening with one of the V11SSPB or V11SS, if you would like to, you can send me your magazine module and a couple of magazines and I will make a tighter fitting one for you. Mags may not drop free though.
