I received a rather large box today, thanks to FedEx, and to my delight, it contained a very nice Reising model 50, along with my approved F4.

Sadly, I leave in the morning on business, so I won't get to shoot it until next week. :pissed

I'll get some pics up later tonight.

Not sure if I'll enjoy the gun like this, I may just go to a red dot, but I figured I'd give it a try, since it came with a rail already mounted, and I had a vintage weaker K2.5 scope laying around.

Anybody ever shot a subgun with s low power scope?

Has an odd look. Given the rate of fire I think you will have a hard time keeping your sight picture.

Congrats on the new toy though.

I suspect you're right about that. I'll probably end up with a red dot. I guess I'll find out when I get back next week.

Well, shooting the Reising with the scope was a real treat actually. It shoots cloverleaf groups at 25 yards in semi, and stays on target as well as with a red dot in FA. I think I'll leave the weaver there for the time being.

Oh, and even my wife liked shooting it with a scope. Her only other Mg experience was with a slow fire red-dot equipped Uzi, but she thought the scope was as easy to use.

I think my reising is more fun than the uzi, I like it a lot other than it's really picky about being clean.

I certainly ran into the dirtiness thing, and the gun started to malfunction about the time I was running out of ammo. Otherwise, it was a blast!

As for the scope, here's my take:

With the scope, I'm able to shoot more accurately in semi-auto, but I don't have any issues with staying on target or sight picture when shooting FA.

When I was buying the gun, the fact that it was D&T'd was a little bit of a bummer, but the price reflected the issue. At this point, I would never do that to a reegistered receiver, but I'm not unhappy that it was done to this one.

And the obligatory first day at the range video:
