I used the search function first, and now asking the question.
My Lage number is coming up in several months, so wanting to understand what is the most reliable or desired sight system for a MAX 11-15? Fixed flip up sights, red dot system, is there a magnified red dot system? A regular scope? What does the military use on their M16A4’s?
Not real sure what I will be using my 11-15 for yet? Just fun shooting, possibly some competition shooting, hog hunting here in TX, etc?
I assume with a 10.5” barrel that I need accuracy to maybe 100 yds?
I use a Sig Romeo 5 red dot on my MAX 10-31 upper and it works well. This 11-15 upper is all new to me, so any suggestions are appreciated in advance.
Thanks

If you’ve got an AR15 in your collection, you can use the same style of sights you like for it.

I don’t own an AR in semi or FA, so knowledge is limited on what works and looks best without spending $1000. With hundreds of Sight systems for the AR platform, I’m really interested in how something might look (and perform) with the MAX 11-15. Wish there were more pictures out there from the current 11-15 owners.

OK, in that case, I’ll give you my personal go-to low cost sighting choice for ARs: Get a Primary Arms SLxZ red dot sight, add an AR15 riser (either 1/3 or full co-witness) and a set of Magpul Gen 2 (or similar) front and rear BUIS. You’ll have great functionality with a good look for $300 or less.

I'm using a Sig Romeo 5 red dot. Very reasonable price, comes with low and high mounts (I use the high mount) and seems to work well in the testing I've done so far (which isn't a huge amount, to be fair).

Can you post a picture of that setup ?

Concorde,
Thanks for the details on sight brands BUIS, etc! Ill look at EO Tech as well.
That’s the info I need to have once the upper arrives from LAGE.
If there are other suggestions, or PICS, that would be really appreciated. At this point I am thinking of using a Lage folding stock similar to what’s on my 10-31, but if an AR buttstock would look/function better I would certainly consider.
Thanks

Of the EO Tech Holographic systems, which models seem to be the Best value for the money?

Be wary of the eotech if you have an astigmatism. If you do sight picture is very blurry

I just got a couple of Holosun HS403GL w/ shake awake w/ included AR base for 119 each. The 50K hours, dot intensity memory, waterproof, low pro turrets, easy to change battery are great. I'm really impressed. I also like Primary Arms but they have gotten more pricey in recent years.

Also, the holosun 510C is a poor man's eotech. Still a nice optic, but its a red dot instead of a true holographic sight.

The shake awake feature is awesome. The auto brightness feature sucks, but it can be turned off.

Holographic sights, like the eotech, transmit more light because the reticle is refracted instead of reflected. The reticle is in the same focal plane as the target (at 50 yards) so its easier to focus on the dot AND the target. Ive heavily used an eotech for duck, goose, coyote, turkey, and clays for the last 3 years and absolutely love it.

This weekend I took my ACOG off of my AR and swapped the Eotech from my M11/15 and took it to the range. I like this set up with the Doc red Dot site on top for close range shots.
