what are these ATF Kiosks?

What are these ATF Kiosks I keep reading people talking about on the forums?
Where are they? State?
The CLEO signoff is gone now right?
Last time I did a Form was 2007 or 2008.

You can do a form 1 there also, but they charge you $35. it saves time though as it does your fingerprints at the kiosk, and you take a selfie on your cellphone and it submits that as your photo, and then they review your form 1 and submit it to the ATF for you.

Nope, can't be used to buy SilencerCo cans. Silencer Shop, who set up the kiosks, doesn't sell SilencerCo cans.

They may not have them in stock at the moment, but they clearly list SilencerCo cans on their site.

If your local dealer has a Silencer Shop Kiosk in his store, he can do all of his transfers trough it. I have a SilencerCo Maxim 9 pending right now.

Used one with much success in August of 2016. Can just got approved. Bought a second can this year through SilencerShop and since they already had all my info, including fingerprints and picture, I was able to buy, complete and submit in record time.

Not a paid spokesperson �� just relaying my good experience!

I'd definitely use their setup again, including on other items such as Form 1.

DAMN that's cool(as in a major convenience). I have been wanting to SBR a few rifles, but its been many a moon since I did a Form 1 and it was before the form that you have to fill out to prove citizenship or something. Either way I didn't have to do it last time and don't know what it is.
With the Kiosk it will have everything ready.
Also I didn't get an answer, is the CLEO sign off gone?

Not putting my info in a kiosk, just not happening. If freaking equifax can be hacked I don't know what is safe. One thing to steal identity, another to steal my nfa identity. Nope not doing it.

Great point. My fingerprints and info may be in a Ukrainian cyber criminal clearing house by now. No CLEO sign off anymore. Just a copy of the form sent to the CLEO. New Form 4 has three copies. The third being the CLEO one.

I emailed Silencerco and they told me no CLEO sign off needed, and Silencerco will also send the CLEO a letter for you so that step is negated also.

For the record also, I am not a paid spokesperson (wish I was though), just a fan of doing things the easy way....

GLockman, I think you meant Silencer Shop not Silencerco.

Yes they send the CLEO letter for you if you use their "powered by Silencer Shop" kiosk system. For Texas they send it to the State Police and not your local sheriff which I like. My local sheriff is a liberal Democrat and I would prefer her not to have the information if she does not have to approve. Can it be hacked? Sure anything can. But since I bought a silencer from them last year my information is already in the system so doing another transaction does not increase the risk. Much easier once the first one is done. Now all I have to do is pay for the Stamp and e-sign the forms and it is off to BATF in minutes. Of course it still sits there for 10 months or longer.

If I do another Form 1, I will probably pay Silencer Shop the $49.95 and use their system to file it. My time is worth that much.
