What range drills do you shoot?

I set up 3 IPSC targets about one foot apart. Distance is about 15 feet. On the beep from a low ready with the safety on I try to put only two rounds in the A zone. Then at the end of the range trip I dump one 32 round mag into the target and try to keep them all in the A zone. I know that's not very impressive but I have to start somewhere. Just curious what everyone else is doing. Thanks and Happy New Years!!!

Lately I’ve been shooting semi auto at a 10”x14” silhouette steel @50m. Then 2-3 shoot bursts at a round 8” gong @25m. Paying attention to footwork, weight distribution, basic technique/form. I’ll go back and forth from the two targets till I feel comfortable. Then I might add in a few empty cans on the ground and give them a dancing lesson for good measure.

I shoot in a monthly steel plate match. It has improved my shooting tremendously, because it's skills that I never really practiced before.

You have to quickly insert and remove mags, and quickly acquire and hit targets.

If I'm left to my own devices, I just end up trying to see how accurately I can hit targets off-hand. And messing with the gun, trying to make it more accurate. Like the last time I shot my M16, I ended up pinging away at the 200 yard gong with it on semi. LOL

See if your club will let you set up a steel plate subgun match. Our club has one every month, it's a blast. It's open to the public, if you're in the Philly area. I posted about it here.

not sure what you mean here, my friend
if you could explain a little more, it would be appreciated
Sorry about that. I was trying to respond to you and I'm not sure what happened. I do have a local range that does steel competitions. So I will give that a shot. Thanks
