Thompson Machine SG-2 direct thread. I use it on my Max11 and my 10.5" .300 blackout AR15. Thompson Machine designed it to use interchangeable thread adapters 1/2-28, 1/2-36, 5/8-24, etc.

Max11 mk1 upper with 1/2x28 barrel + Bowers VERS 9S directly threaded on with thread tape making three full passes. Pleasant tone (FRP is loud, however) and the least gassy of any suppressor I've tried.

Bowers Vers9s, and unfortunately it's unusable on the Max-11 mk1 even with internal and external gas blocks. Too much gas in the face when shooting. I'm not sure how other people have such good luck with it. So I now run the Bowers on my 300 blackout which works great, and just shoot the Max-11 unsuppressed.

This was me. Same situation with both gas blocks in place (YHM Wraith XL QD). IMHO, you HAVE TO run a gas deflector. Mine was utterly unusable without it. I made my own rail-mounted deflector out of sheet metal initially before I picked up one of Greg Carlson's excellent Gas/Brass Kickers. Give him a shout, I'm sure he'll sell you one as he has had "just a couple left" for the past few years now.

Yeah I’ve heard that a few times. One of these days I’ll get around to making one, I’d want it to be low profile like the one that comes on the Gray Ghost.

Honestly I’ve grown to enjoy shooting it unsuppressed, since most of the time that I shoot it there are other shooters around and I need to wear hearing protection anyway.

If you reload you can drastically reduce gasiness. I tried 147gr lead with AA#7. It was incredibly gassy. I actually have a video of it:

Then I switched to totally plated 147gr bullets pushed by W231, it made a huge difference and all other things remained equal (you can see a video of this a few posts above.)

I'm sure the Carlson Comp Gas Kicker helps. I bought one of Greg's gas kickers but never used it because I wouldn't have been able to store my M11 on it's right side.

On my Mac 10 I have a Bowers Vers 45. On my m11/9 I have a YHM Wraith, QD can. I mount it on a side cocker, the max 31 and the max 11. I don’t have or need the various options for my fat Mac.

I run my AAC Tirant 9 & 9s and just recently picked up an Omega 9k. Run all of these with 3 lug adapters.

Here is a video of the Omega 9k on a M11 side charging upper & speed block:

I run 147 AE, 147 Lawman, and preferably the 158gr Fiocchi with great luck.

I'd love to hear your comparison thoughts regarding the 3 suppressors with 147, please share!

Years ago myself and a fellow board member tested half a dozen different suppressors using our two M11s with Max11 uppers. We played with a Bowers CAC9 (old and new baffle stacks) VERS 9S, Tirant 9, Octane 9, Mystic and Sionics. We also toyed with different Lage bolts (600, 750 and 900rpm.)

I have 3 YHM XL QD Wraith suppressors. 2 9mm and 1 .45. They use a flash hider to attach to the gun and the suppressor to the flash hider. I use one of the 9's on my .380. They have the "ratchet" design and I use blue Loctite to hold it on the 1/2x28 threads. Works great. I'm sending all three to Stalking Rhino Industries and having them jail broken, moly coated and recored with titanium. They have my .45 now and when I get it back, I'll send one of my 9's.

Here's the thread - http://www.uzitalk.com/forums/showthread.php?76023-Bowers-CAC9-and-VERS-9S-on-M11-9-s&highlight=

I don't remember all the fine nuances from our testing. Some big takeaways that stuck with me however -

  • The smaller cans (Octane, Tirant etc.) are quieter to the shooters ear but the larger volume cans (CAC9, VERS 9S) control the gas better
  • The larger cans had a more noticable FRP
  • The Sionics was the quietest by far (I think we only shot that can with the stock M11/9 upper)
  • The upgraded Bowers baffle stack was noticeably quieter
  • The VERS 9S and CAC9 (with upgraded baffle stack) sounded the same, so if you only want one SMG can you might as well go with the shorter VERS 9S
