Will we every see a Mac-10/60 or a M-11/134. Maybe we will get a M-11a1/19. What's going to fly? What can we expect to get in the future.

Bump stocks used to be legal.... And now there not... Mg34 uppers used to be legal with m16s now there not.... And street sweepers used to be non nfa. Akins accelerator got banned etc etc etc.... So what's legal or not depends on who you ask and what day

The XMG was always a Title I firearm. The company that made it marketed it incorrectly. There was never a change in status. The FATD clarified that a XMG (Title I firearm) + an AR lower (Title I firearm) +an AR registered conversion device (LL or DIAS) OR an XMG (Title I firearm) + a M16 RR (Title II firearm) is one too many firearms firing automatically.

Personally I think that the only limitation of what could be done with the Mac style RR is limited to the strength of the receiver. There are issues with what is or is not a firearm. Could the mechanism of the M2 be adapted to a Mac style RR? I don't know. I think that a 7.62X51 military belt fed system could be adapted. At least we are planning to try as we have funds for R&D.

Allowed? Probably a Phased plasma rifle upper in the 40 watt range
In existance? The Lage alien upper, or a shrike on a Tenko
In production? The Lage 11/15

I have an MG34 upper but it’s 9mm/ just the stock upper inside a dummy receiver frame.

I’m working on a 12 ga upper which will be submitted to the ATF- to see if it’s “allowed”.

Sorry, I forgot to add that I don't think an "upper" based on the M134 minigun would be able to be done. The housing that holds the barrels and the bolts is the firearm. There is a roller path to open and close the breach. There is no recoil spring. To make a multi rotating barrel "upper" might be possible, but would require redesign of the whole system. It might be cool as a one off project but would be so incredibly expensive with a very tiny niche market. Valkyrie made a hand crank version. As I recall the retail price was $30,000.

Now you've got me thinking about how to combine recoil energy and gas blowback to cycle a minigun.

I still wish someone would produce a basic sheet metal upper that takes glock mags.

This... or even better, mutiple magwells for the upper that could take a variety of mags.

Shouldn't be incredibly hard if:

1) It's built as a longer-than-OEM Upper; or
2) It's built as a top-mounted magwell and ejects through the grip; retains OEM OAL but would require a new Bolt

That kinda defeats the primary reason they exist...

Yes it does, but Scott's comment made the thought go through my brain. Not entirely sure, but if you were really gonna make a "minigun upper" for a MAC, that may be the only way to do it. Couldn't use a motor (2 Machine Gun problem) so you're kinda stuck with gas, recoil, or a combination thereof. Besides, if you were using a motor, or even a crank, you wouldn't need the MAC Receiver anyway.

Actually, I *think* I figured out the basic concept of how to do it! Essentially a Crankshaft connected to a chain drive to spin the Barrels (powered by Recoil) and a single Bolt (powered by Gas)

I think if you mirrored the internal dimensions length wise of the MAX 31 maybe you could use the max 31 bolt and have a forward facing magwell.

Forward facing Magwell? Do you mean Magwell placed foreward of the Receiver?

Yea sorry it was early. Replicate the max 31 concept where the magazine well is in front of the lower but takes glock mags. Nothing fancy just welded sheet metal steel would be cool.

I wonder how hard it would be to bolt the front 1/2 of this...

...to the bottom of this after removing the magwell ?
