Which Mac to buy?

Hello all! This is my first post. I've been enjoying lurking for a couple weeks and reading. I'm finally in the market to purchase my first full auto and, of course being the least expensive to get into full auto, have chosen the Mac.

I've found a guy local to me that has three Macs for sale. All are the same price. He has a Mac-10/45, 10/9, and an 11/9. All are in excellent condition and all have a single-stage suppressor (use wipes). The Mac-10s both have matching serial numbers with the guns. Both are also Powder Springs. The 10/45 is a Powder Springs Mac with a Marietta suppressor. I suppose that the 10/45 and suppressor were produced while the factories were being moved. Pretty cool. The 10/9 has one and the 10/45 has 8 or 9 and he has a thread protector for the 45.

I'm torn between the three and need some input on my decision. I really only want to shoot 9mm but like the idea of having the option of 45acp. I suppose if I bought the 10/45 I'd want to get a magwell insert and 9mm upper for it. More money....I'll spend more money regardless of purchase I'd imagine. I've seen all sorts of goodies. I want to have a controllable and usable machine gun.

With the other two, I'd already have the 9mm chambering but would still probably want to get a a Lage upper to slow down the rate of fire.

I'm sure I'd be able to have fun with all these bullet hoses the way they are but I can't help but wanting to mod everything I get. I'd like to buy all three but my wife....

What's everyone's input? I'm closing the deal in just a few days. I want the one that will carry the most value over time. Thanks!
Kevin

Personally, it's the M11/9 I would get. The m11/9 has the most aftermarket parts for it so with that, current prices don't put the M10/45 far in front of the M11/9. So if your talking about keeping the weapon stock I think the M10/45 PS one will hold more value then a stock M11/9. But with all the Lage stuff out, and available you get more options than the M10/45.

Max11, both max11/22, and m11/22 kits, Max31 (cheap reliable drum mag carbine or coffins if you wanna give up a nut). Now AMP has the 5.56 conversion for the m10/45 for sure, and we will see about the m11/9 "when" they release info on it. But I don't think any body has SABRE upper. But when it comes to the AMP side of the house, it seem they make short runs of everything they produce( not saying there a bad company they made a great Soumi conversion) or they like to just tease us, cause I know they got other shit up there sleeves.

So I think if you consider that they wieght the same on the scale to me. So if you want the AMP upper its get it while you can, and the uppers around 2k. I have both the m10/45, and m11/9 but I have and over stamp Rpb m10/45. I use the m11/9 more then my m10/45, and if I had to sell one it would the m10.

If you have any desire to shoot 22lr your only choice is the m11/9.

How much are they asking?

$4,100 plus 2 stamps. Hell of a deal. If I could afford it I'd buy all of them. I'd love to shoot 22 lr but that's not a deal breaker for the 10s.

I just bought an M11/9 with suppressor a few weeks ago, for the same price, but that's including my 2 stamps. If I were you, I'd probably get the M11/9. With all the aftermarket options out there I can see the M11/9 being wanted more by a shooter. That's just my opinion though. If you're keeping it stock the M10/9 has a slower ROF I believe (could be wrong).
If I were planning on keeping the gun stock, I may lean more toward an M10/45 or M10/9
It's all up to you really, but you could ask yourself these questions:
What am I going to do with it?
What caliber out of the stock choices would I shoot the most?
Do I want to be able to shoot .22lr?
Am I keeping it stock or am I planning on buying lots of accessories?
------
On the subject of the S.A.B.R.E 5.56 upper I believe they are going to offer it for both the M10 and M11. Or atleast I asked if they were making a m11/9 model and they told me i'm on the list. Price is $1950, but subject to change.

Buy them all.
Or get the m11/9 as it has the most options.

The best shooting stock mac is the M10 in my opinion. As others have said the most versatile is the m11/9. The cheapest mac is the m11a1. Its basically the same gun as an m11/9 but for $1000 cheaper. Its got a fair amount of aftermarket fun, but not nearly as much as the m11/9.

If you go M10 get the 45, just for the 9mm conversion.

Right; and the standard .45 mags (grease gun) are reasonably priced and available......well, until the latest frenzy.

The AMP/9mm conversion uses Suomi drum or stick mags and a Lage slow speed upper in .45 works great in bringing the rpm into sane speeds.

The only issue with the M10's is that a .22 conversion is not readily available.

M11/9's have the most goodies available but no .45acp.

Damn, still not able to decide! I'd buy them all if I could. But then if I could afford that I'd probably buy one Mac still and step up to something else that I have in mind. I'd love to have them all. I'm not sure if I'll get another upper before my stamps come back. It is hard to decide since I want them all....His Mac11a1 wasn't for sale (that I know of). Really would prefer 9mm anyway. Now seeing the S.A.B.R.E. upper hitting the market....hmm...I just don't know!

I've seen Lage products. I also saw usmachinegun.com has stuff. Who else has after market products that are good? I'd like to slow the rate of fire but is Lage the only good product on the market for this option?

I've decided to go with the 10/9. I'll finalize the purchase tomorrow. Thanks for all the input.

You'll need to buy expensive mags for the PS M10 and 9mm is not naturally subsonic like the .45acp gun that uses cheap grease gun mags.

If you can only buy one, I'd suggest the M11/9, but they're as different as people's tastes. You'll enjoy whichever one you buy.

If .22lr is important to you M11/9 as other have stated.

But if you are happy with just 9mm I would get an SWD M11a1 and a lage upper. That is the best Mac 9 mm set up in my opinion. I am not a drum guy or I would say Max 31a.

Personally my gun it's just about permanently set up with the Max 11/22.

Good luck.

I was thinking about getting a m10/9. Will the recon mags for the m11/9 work in the m10/9?

Pretty it should have no problem if its a single feed bolt and ramp, but I could be wrong I don't have an M10/9 but I know the PS M10/9 takes Walther mag and there double stack double feed
