I have had my Uzi Vector SMG for a while now and have had a lot of fun with it. After recently trying to find a once plentiful and cheap (ten years ago) G3 kit got me to thinking what may be in store for Uzi kits ten or more years from now. With that in mind I want to put a few SMG parts kits away should my Uzi ever need replacement parts a few million rounds from now.
So who has the best kits available right now?

My Numrich kit wasn't in the best cosmetic condition. The top cover looked really good. The stock had finish wear in spots where it rubs when folded. And the grip frame had some wear on the edges. On the other hand internals like trigger, and sear looked brand new. The grips and handguard were definitely worn though.

Here is a Numrich Arms Kit I received March 6th - Picture Heavy....Have a look.

Here's how our friends at Numrich Arms describes these kits:

Original IMI parts kits in used, very good to excellent condition. Unlike other parts kits on the market, ours include the following receiver components: barrel mount (a/k/a trunion barrel support), front sight bracket (a/k/a front sight base), bayonet lug, trigger housing mount (a/k/a/ rear grip mount), stock mount (a/k/a backplate), rear sight base and ejector. We are offering the kits with or without a new reproduction barrel and with or without a 25 round magazine for states with hi-cap magazine restrictions including CA, HI, MA, MD, NJ, NY & DC. Note: Extra magazines are also available: 25 round ITEM#514900 or 32 round ITEM#514980. Note: Receiver section with feed ramp and handguard mount is not included or available.

Hope this helps on answering the question as to condition parts kits are in. I will be receiving a kit from SARCO as well...pictures to follow.

Best regards,

Impatience will get the better or me, and I'll buy my first one, then build one. Have you bought a receiver yet? Will you be chronicling your build online?

Click,

You know me better than you might think! I bought a Vector last week - got it used. It shoots and runs great.
As for my build, receiver and bolt are on order with NODAK... Backordered, though. As for chronicle-ing - no, I think the several threads out there can not be improved upon.

Backordered. Such an ugly word. Yeah, I'll pick up a new one this week, and tinker with it while I decide if I have the patience to build one.

I see IMA has part kits for sale for $249.95
From their pictures the kits look to have been German surplus guns.
Has anyone received one from them? If so what condition was it in?

I ordered one kit each from Sarco, Numrich, and IMA. The IMA was junk, wish I hadn't got that one. The Numrich was slightly nicer than the Sarco, but just a bit. i think the sarco was the best deal if you can use a barrel for only $50 more. I did order sarco's cheapest kit, they also have premium and super choice. When i get the funds, I plan to order several more and talk to machine gun dave at sarco about getting a bit nicer for a bit cheaper. He does volumn discounts.
