Looking to get back into one, but not finding them on Atlantic's website anymore. Any help? Don't think Kelly Enterprises does anymore either.

Help?

Yeah, the old stand-by companies don't have them anymore. The Vector site (http://vectorarms.co/) said they have some dealers but I'll bet none of them have any Vectors in stock. Probably have to order directly from Vector, or keep a watch on gunbroker.

Avoid 'new vector' like the plague they are.

If your budget is around $1K consider a DIY McKay build.
If you are specifically wanting Old Vector, consider finding an IMI Gun they built on - basically something that absolutely ensures old vector arms work

(that price is high and he's had it forever, but that's an example)

Hm. I am not in that price range.....anyone gotten a newer vector that was ok?

Yes, 1 person has gotten a new vector that was 'ok'. Several not-ok with all sorts of random shenanigans. My personal experience is that a new vector was an absolute POS that they would not warranty even though it should have been in circulation for less than a year. I'm not sure which was the most/least favorite part of said new vector, the fact the firing pin would crater the edge of the primer or the fact the chamber was cut so badly that standard 9mm ammo looked WAY(screaming for mercy flat heads and primers) over pressure with an obvious crease in the side of the case where the chamber was obviously cut too tight.

eff new vector. Congrats on the new little one tho.

Mine was good, but by "new" it was like three years ago or so.

I had to beat the top cover a bit to open it up, and since then it's run well.

ETA: The way things are now, I'd just build one.

It depends on if you have a need for instant gratification or not. If you can be very patient, then have one built by a reputable gunsmith that specializes in Uzi's. The wait will be very long, but worth it... Or, if you are fortunate enough to stumble across an original IMI Model A or B, or a good vintage Vector, then go that route. A used IMI in nice shape would probably be less expensive than a custom built Uzi from a top gunsmith.

McKay Uzi rock!!!(receivers)
I have one !
I think they are about 230$ ??
You can buy the 9mm bolt from them too.
or........get IMI 9mm or .45 bolt from USBS from NV.
or D& D sales for IMI barrel and bolts. ( from AZ)

My Vector is alright. It has the issue with cratered off center primers, which I have not had time to completely diagnose what the cause of that is. And it's not uncommon to have failure to feed and eject issues. The gun runs better on hotter 9mm for sure. I use surplus mags as well some of which could be part of the problem. I'd like to get one of those JJ Custom bolt hold open top covers to make it easier to seat mags when loading. Right now I don't have the budget to throw tons of money at it. I was going to SBR it but not sure right now.

Yes. I think I'd be looking for older production on GB. I would think there is a reason why they are being sold on fewer sites.

Where is the line between "old" and "new" Vectors?

Thanks.....Pachcko

2008, when Vector essentially shut down for about six months. They were never the same after that. It should be noted that Vectors had their share of problems before that, largely due to varying parts suppliers that didn't always deliver in-spec parts. But Vector's service back then was excellent and they'd take care of anything that came up.
