Why are UZI 45 Conversion more expensive as a kit?

If you buy an UZI 45 conversion kit it cost about $400+, but if you buy bolt, barrel and mag it about $295. Why is this? What am I missing?

Semi

Yes, The semi-auto versions. Seems like you can save some $$$$ buying separately. Why?

When you say $295, are you keeping the standard Uzi lower, or moving to a GG lower? Everything I've seen for true IMI Uzi 45 mags is like $150 just for one 16 round mag.

I'm actually interested in having the .45ACP conversion w/ GG lower, but having trouble finding a GG lower. I saw uzigunparts has a kit for do it yourselfers, but I'd hate to see how many lowers I'd have to foul up before I got one working proper. I know my limitations. Apologies if I'm derailing your post.

Promag are making 10rd and 22rd 45acp mags for standard uzi lowers. I will be pulling the trigger on buying the 45 bolt and barrel since I can't find any 9mm bolts for my build.

Got the 45 bolt, barrel and 22rd promag. Works great, but the 22rd mags are a few inches longer than 9mm 32rd mags. Looks a little like the 9mm 50rd mags (goofy). Don't understand why they couldn't make the mag the same length at 27rd glock mags. Eh, can't have the best of both worlds I guess.

Do your promag 45 round mags feed reliably?

I've been waiting for the supposed "new batch" of 22 rounders, the ones that will actually work and may even cure ..... well you get the picture. I've called 2x in the last month to inquire about them. Both times they were in paint/blueing (must be a very long process). I keep watching, and MidWay USA keeps pushing them out. When I first looked date was end of July, now it's September and moves every time I check back in.

I finally gave in and purchased some uber-expensive IMI's. Figure I can shoot them for a while, then if I really want more mags, sell 'em and buy a GG Conversion. But that said, GG Conversions seem a little hard to come by also. Vector isn't willing to sell them anymore directly to the public, I've asked nicely.

The promag I have must have been the new batch because they worked perfectly and did not have to modify the mag catch slot. Bought two 22rd mags. Highly recommended. Little hard to get the last few rounds in, but they are new. Little tight fiting in the grip, but managable.

CDNN has them for 29.99. That is where I bought mine.

Cheaper than dirt has them for 29.09 now too.

I'm interested in a .45 conversion for my Vector FA Uzi. Are the parts for a FA model available separately or do I have to buy a kit?
