I ordered 1000 147grain fmj bullets and what they sent me were the truncated cone bullets because they were out of the regular shaped ones.* I know hollow points don't work well or at all in a m11 and I am doubtful that these will.* Anyone have any experience with TC bullets in a m11?

some do some don't. I have an upper that eats anything and one that will only feed ball.

HSTs didn't run in my Lage, but then again, they don't run in some Springfields.

Simple answer, make some dummy rounds and give them a whirl.

Load a handfull in the mag, lock the bolt open, see if the bolt will run them into the chamber.. reload the mag, and let the bolt drop, while holding trigger back with selector set in the auto mode, flip the chambered round out and let the bolt drop to simulate firing and see if the rounds go.

If they go, load some with primer and powder and go for a test drive.

Mine will eat XTP handloads, why not send me 5 or 10 of them bullets for test drive here.

how does the Lage upper do??

Mine won't feed TC or HP bullets.

But, my M11/9 won't feed these with the stock upper either. I think the feed ramp geometry plays a big role in this.

I would stick to FMJ or FMC.

Mine runs them pretty well, but has the occasional hangup.

Just load up 50 or 100 and try them out. If they don't work, shoot them through a handgun.

The OAL of the cartridge might make a difference as well. It might be something else to play with.

I am not even through the first of two transfers. I bought my gun from an out of state seller, It is giving me plenty of time to stock up on everything I need. It will probably be July before I get my M11. I have the Lage upper already though he was much quicker then I thought he was going to be.

My Lage MAX-11 runs 147grn truncated cone just fiine.
So does mine. I put a bunch of 147grain lead handloads through my Lage'd M11 and it ran without a hitch. Lube on those bullets was smokey, otherwise fine.

No they are the ones that look like they have the top choped off. Most .40S&W are truncated. The tops are flat.

Does anyone that reloads have an OAL for 9mm 147 TC?
