Working up Loads.

I've got a Dillon 650, its great when you've got your recipe dialed in, but when I won't to experiment with different powder weights and/or get a new bullet and have to play with the OAL its a pain in the butt.

What type of "reloader" do you guys use when working up (just a few rounds) 5-15 rounds to see what rounds group best, etc.,.

There's got to be something a little faster than working with the 650, when your running a few test rounds.

Single stage RCBS.

I also have separate 650 tool heads setup for each caliber I reload. Once I determine the powder setting and set the dies I do not change anything on that particular tool head.

Lee Pro 1000 is all I use. The OAL can be adjusted on the fly which is good for me since I rotate between plated and lead bullets. The powder charge is a little more involved to change, but not a huge deal.

That or my Lee single stage.

Any of 4 single stage presses I have set up in my reloading room. I keep one caliber in each one just for that purpose or precision rifle loading. I acquired a Dillon S D a few years back and have left it set at one setting since I recieved it.

Save up for a Lyman digital powder scale. They are a god-send when you're working up loads.

RCBS RS-5 for general tasks and rifle loads

DILLON 650 for bulk 9mm and 40

I found a DILLON SDB on Craiglist, it set up for 45, which is a rarity for me now, unless I decide to thump some out the Uzi SBR..

RCBS RS-3 holds my DILLON 1200 trimmer for 223 cases

Bare DILLON 450 frame here that "may" get assembled for bulk 223/556 loading some day
