It'd be great if a really knowledgeable gunsmith could check one out for the usual problems we had with ORF builds....headspace , soft ejectors, etc. If the new Caspian is what I hope for, I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

I've got one of them as of tomorrow. I'll edit this post and add pictures of it. You can also read my post (#40) in http://www.uzitalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40801 about my initial inspection, but sadly, no pictures.

    Aloha,

I got a nib golani that had a tag that said caspian. my sn# GLN001xx. I think the GLN prefix indicates the new receiver model.

I noticed that there are twice as many AA Galils than MR Galils in each respective Caliber and model AR or ARM.

I only know the features of my Galil as its the only one I have owned.

What are the major differences between the AA models like the AA 331 and the AA 329 and or the AA 323 and the AA 332 ?

    Any good reference materials ?

Actually, the poll is deceiving as there were more models of the AA produced vs. the Magnum Research. If you actually compare identical models, there are a few categories where the AA has fewer numbers than the Magnum Research. i.e. #323 .308 ARM....8 Magnum Research....6 AA.

Not many 331's out there. It seems I got lucky!

Now if only I could bring myself not to shoot it occasionally.....

ooops!!!.....In the post above I meant to compare the Model #332 .308 ARM between Action Arms and Magnum Research. The only 323 is Action Arms.

Another Golani owner here. GLN 026XX. Wife would not let me cough up 3-4K for the real deal. Don't know if the receiver is Caspian or ORF. How does one tell?

My Golani GLN003XXX looks same as yours in that spot..but mine's marked .223 instead of .556.
I wonder why some are marked one way and others are marked another way?

Mine's a J&S Century build with Caspian receiver. Only a couple of minor problems fixed by reading posts on this site. Replaced the plastic handgrip and fwd handguard with wooden ones, installed new night sights from John out in WA. Mine is an AR I think its called, very accurate, have fired hundreds of rounds. It doesn't like hollowpoints but will feed them after I did a mod.
A keeper rifle...Thank You Israel and the IDF for a fine firearm!
