How to glue black dog magazine back together?

One of mine split along the glue seam today.

I wasn't sure what type of glue to use or how to glue it so it's smooth on the inside.

I'm guessing if you call BDM they'll replace it for you, they're pretty good about that

Go to the auto parts store and get a tube of "instant glue" used to attach reaview mirrors to windshied glass. Has worked perfectly for me.

+1 with Ferndog. I have dropped several of mine. Used a dremel cut off wheel to groove the crack slightly to increase surface area of the repair and to keep from having to get any glue into the interior.

The tab on my teardrop mag from MWG broke off, called them and they sent me a new one no questions asked, they will send you a new one if you just call them.

When I have split BD mags, i just glue them back together with super glue and wrap them with blue masking tape for 24 hours.Works great!

I have used a small soldering tool to heat the plastic back up. I think they are stronger than when new.

I have a VERY early bdm mag that cracked around the feedlip.

I called them and asked them what they recommended to glue it together with, and they mailed me a brand new Xform mag before they were even released to the public no questions asked.

Even told me I could keep the old mag, which I used some testors model glue on it and it still works, though I don't load it to capacity anymore. I usually stop around 20 rounds just so not to stress the parts too much.

Black Dog Mag stands behind their product and I stand behind them. They earned a repeat customer.

I used to have some solvent of some sort that worked really well for this sort of thing.
It has since all evaporated from not having the lid on tight enough.

I would use a very small paint brush to apply to the two surfaces till it got soft then press together and hold in place till its hard - good as new one solid piece again
get a plastic solvent something that will melt the plastic.
I would rather this than a glue any day. I will not break free there is no seam left to split

All this said I would contact BDM first

I contacted black dog and they sent me actually two replacement mags.

very nice of them, they are good folks

the mags also have the stiffer springs, which are highly recommended. definitely an improvement over the original springs

I'm not surprised. BDM has always treated me right.

I'm curious if plumbers glue would work?
