I have a 1974 made blued 4" python, very nice gun that I enjoy shooting, no problems. Bought it for $400 around 2004 at a pawn shop in Louisiana. I believe it was a LE trade in, some holster wear. If you can find an older one get it.

What's the latest with this? Did you get your issues fixed? Did Colt help you?
My name is actually Scott and I really do live in Texas.

I know, not very creative but it is factual.

Mine had a 6lb single action and 12lb double action. I’ve owned ALOT of revolvers and this was the worst SA I’ve ever felt, ever. I sent it off to heffron precision for a trigger job.

I wanted to get the new anaconda too but now after this fuck that. I took the nuclear option on getting a new 44 Mag shooter and ordered a new 6” Korth NXR in 44 Mag.

You own deep 5 figures worth of classic Pythons, any chance you’d try another incase you got the worst one sent to one of the best customers?

I don’t see the point of owning more than one. They aren’t hand made and not collectible. The ones I’ve kept for myself are the boa’s, 3”, 2.5” snubbies, electorless nickels and other rare variants or ones that havnt been shot/NIB.

I bought this one as a shooter since they built it “stronger”. However the trigger and hammer are smaller on the new gun which is sad and makes it less fun as a target gun.

I haven't had any experience with a Korth since 91/92, but back then, they were nice.
$5,000 would buy a Python with a whole lot of custom work; possibly better than a factory Korth?
Fwiw, one of my cousins collects Colt 1911s, he's had to send a few back to them because they wouldn't even feed Ball.
