    UZI Jams Help

    Hello,

If a full auto IMI Model A UZI jams with fired cases getting stuck between the bolt and the rear of the ejector what is malfunctioning? Obviously a failure to extract but why?
    Thank you.

Someone will come along here soon and try to help but in the meantime a little more info would help.

Is this gun new to you and has this problem persisted since you began shooting it or have you had it for a while and this “jamming” problem just started.

What manufacture of ammo are you using please include bullet weight.

Have you checked your extractor and ejector for damage? I had a similar issue when I first received my Uzi 10 years ago and come to find out the ejector was broken smooth off at the frame.

Are your magazines in good repair?

How well does you top cover fit? Is it fairly snug or does it eagle around like the handle on a shit house door?

This weapon is new to me. Fired 50 rounds and had three jams.
Used Remington Green Box 124 gr ammo.
I have not checked the extractor or ejector for damage but will do so.
Only tried one magazine. Seemed to be in good shape but...
The top cover fits well with little to no play.
    Thanks.

A good place to start is the easy things.
    Clean
    Lube
    Visually check extractor & ejector
Try a box of a different brand ammo
    Try a different magazine
If those don't give you an answer then move on to more complicated issues

Definitely try hotter ammo. Remington is known to be weak.

Remington 9mm causes issues on must semi/full auto weapons. I hope you didn't pay todays prices for it.

Try different ammo. If that does not work, check the extractor tension (make sure the extractor channel is clean too). Add tension or replace extractor, check the ejector to make sure it is not loose.
