Hotchkiss Universal Parts Kit to semiautomatic build.

Any recommendations on a gunsmith who could assembled a Hotchkiss Universal parts kit into a semiautomatic SBR?

Very jealous, I'd love to have a kit to build.

Look around the Forgotten Weapons site. Ian there had one built and reviewed it sometime in the past year. He might have mentioned who built it for him or you could try reaching out to him.

"MKGunmods" has done a few...... he is a member over at Weaponsguild

They seem to work.....but the overall quality of his work is less than impressive.....

One of his Sten semi auto builds:

    And a MAT-49 semi build:

He ended up getting one already built and sold the parts kit. Dunno who made the parts kit build he got.

Already priced out of the parts kit that listed on G/B which is a shame because it is a really clean saw cut. Mr. Andrewski is building my M3a1 shell so bad timing money wise.

The quality of his work seems to be inversely proportional to his advanced age.

There is a post on theakforum from several months ago regarding a debacle with an MP30 build where the work was really poor quality, damage to part(s)...and the "rare, excellent condition, Austrian" parts kit seeming to have been swiped and swapped for lesser quality.

Here's another MKGunMods that's not bad. Notice though, that the charging handle is installed backwards.

In the EPIX series Pennyworth, a young Alfred Pennyworth (pre-Batman Butler) and his two fellow SAS veterans open up a "security business" in 1960s London. I believe it was the Premiere episode or one of the very first ones that his comrade "Dave Boy" reaches under his jacket and produces a folded Hotchkiss Universal. Deploying it in 2 seconds flat he is blasting away at the various villains.

While the Hotchkiss has made appearances before (X-Men First Class) this is the first time I've ever seen it deployed from a folded state. They are way cool! One of these and a MAT49 SMG are about the only two French arms I've ever been interested in.

    Ians videos on the Hotchkiss.

    https://www.forgottenweapons.com/?s=Hotchkiss+Universal

I was on the squad with Ian at the match, he was frustrated that day, but he was game, and he was not last.

He had to unfold it on the clock at least once (I would have too).

I beat him with my M1

The guys at Rio Salado put on a great match, already signed up for this year.
