Didn’t Buddy Hinton havr a couple of these in the 70’s that had been cosmetically converted, complete with welded on plates to square off the receiver, into semi auto AK clones as there were no semi auto AKs in the US then ?

It's a movie gun. There was a time when AKs weren't available, and Valmets were.

What would make that gun cool is to figure out what movies it was in.

True, I think I remember reading somewhere they used Valmets in the original A Team as stand ins for AKs, I know they definitely used MACs with welded on front and rear demilled Uzi receiver stubs to stand in for Uzis

Exactly--- I have seen a similar rifle with a lower serial number.

Yes. This f’n thing should be preserved in a museum - as is!
