colt ar15 calibers

what calibers did the colt ar 15 type rifles come in? I know of 9mm , 223, 7.62x39 but I have heard of rumors of a 222 is this true?

Yes. The way I heard it they were intended for export to a country that didn't like civies to own military calibers. I think it was to Japan, but I am not sure on the country. After market calibers list goes on much further.

I think France & Spain also prohibt one from owning military calibers.

So does Mexico. That is why .38 super is so popular down there.
