Help Identifying Barren Extension

Picked this up at the LGS today, it was in a box with other MAC/Cobray stuff. He said it may be 1/2x28 but it is too big to screw onto my 1/2x28 uzi barrel that I just got from US Barrel Shrouds. It has what I would consider a gas ring on the threaded end.

Thoughts?
