Anyone know who makes Ruger's Mini-14 magazines? I have read speculations all over radar screen, but no definitive answers.

IIRC, Promag made some of them, but I don't know if they still do, or if they always did.

in the old days early 2000's, Ruger made them...Remember everyone hating uncle Bill for not selling high capacity mags to anyone after the AWB sunsetted

IMO, the finish on the Ruger mini mags are not up to par on more than a few occasions: bluing is spotty, scratches, even puncture dents. I'm surprised at what I consider a lack of quality control. Yes, they function fine, but the finish is not what I consider new condition, especially in regard to the mag cost.

doesnt ruger make them?

i bought like 20 brand new a while back when i found a deal...wrapper says ruger...mine are all flawless.....sadly i only use 1 since the gun heats up so fast...no reason to load up mags ahead of time

i see no scratches, dents or spotty bluing on any of mine...

Midwayusa has factory Ruger mags on sale right now. $20 for 20 rounders, and $26 for 30 rounders.

There has been many aftermarket mag suppliers for the MINI-14, but after trying several of them in the mid 1990's, I gave up. I could never figure out why they wouldn't work consistently. Later I bought my AC556, I did try one of the aftermarket mags, it didn't work. After that, I just bought nothing but RUGER mags ! And Today, I'm still tired of wasting money buying the AM mags. I only have Ruger mags now !!!

The ONLY Mini/AC mags that you can always count on are real, honest to goodness, Ruger made ones and PMI mags from back in the day. Everything else is a crap shoot.

Probably a dumb question, but are the Mini-14 magazines interchangeable with the AC556?

Thanks...I'm just starting the Form 4 wait and thought I'd get a few things before hand.

My brother bought one of my 1980's vintage Mini-14s from me. Against my advice, he purchased a Pro Mag 30 round magazine for it. Surprisingly the Pro Mag has functioned 100% in his gun.
