I'm getting stuff together to build a SAR. Last piece of the puzzle is rivets. From memory the normal rule of thumb is 150% longer than diameter. Does this still work on the Galil or is there too much meat on the receiver?

This is my first milled build.

I've never seen Galil trigger guard rivets for sale. On a lark, I wonder if AK rivets would work.

"regular" AKs tend to be stamped these days. Different receiver thickness is possible.

How much rivet do we want sticking up to squish?

The actual trigger guard rivet has a smaller head but not a big deal.

What is the length of that rivet?

It's way cheaper to just order 100 at $6-8 vs $5 for 6 rivets from AK-Builder, plus, I'll be building several.

I'm curious about this myself! I don't think 'regular' milled AK rivets are correct, as the AK-47 uses a pin as a selector stop and the Galil has an AKM-style plate.
