With a heavy heart I must tell you that Don Thomas, 78 years of age lost his battle with Diabetes on Sept. 15 at about 6:50 pm. His wishes was to be Cremated. For those of you whom did not know Don, he was the Co-Arthur of The Mac Man book. He had a wealth of information in his head and in his Library. Don was a dear friend of mine and we spent a lot of time discussing the Ingram Guns and the MAC Plant. He has giving me his friendship and tons of information for my Ingram collection. He will be missed in the Gun Community.

Really sorry to hear this. I just recently acquired an M11/9 and it's still waiting at dealer on paperwork, but immediately bought your book. I can only imagine Don was an incredibly intelligent and strong individual.

Sorry to hear of the loss. Grateful some of his legacy is captured in book form. Can you tell more about his background? Was he just a researcher or was he involved with the history personally?

Sorry to hear.

Hats off to you and Mr. Thomas — the book is the best on our favorite subject.

We are all mortal.

Good reminder to make the most of the time we have and consider our legacy.

Good friends are hard to find..and be.

Bummer. I hope he is in a better place and am grateful that we were able to learn from him.

To answer your question Gaujo, Don was employed by Military Armament Corp. and served as the Company Historian. If you have a copy of The Mac Man book, Don wrote a Preface page IV. Don was instrumental in preserving a lot of items from destruction in the plant.

Well in that case alone we owe him a debt of gratitude.

Would have been nice to see the Military Armaments Company mentioned in the obit.
