Anybody here get much play time on a full-auto HK UMP .45? We have some at work that regularly show up at my range. I'm a huge fan of the gun, but several of the guys don't care for them at all. It makes me think of a plastic tommy gun.

I've never shot a UMP but have one of the semi-auto USCs. In general I like it but find the pistol grip too large and blocky. Not sure of the UMP is the same way.

The main complaint falls with the non-adjustable folding stock. For most it seems a tad too long to comfortably position toward the center of the thick swat vest. One of the guys from work descibes the MP5 as a race horse and the UMP as a plow mule. Give me the plow mule.

I like it a lot. I use it as a range toy so I do not have the stock length problem, but I see how it could be one if you were wearing body armor. I find it pretty accurate too.

My main complaint is I wish they would recognize 20% of the world is left handed.

I run into the same problem with a ump as a g36. They both seem to "flex" to me when shooting and I find it annoying. Both have functioned and shot well for me though.

The civilian SBR version looks sweet.

I think I'll just let one follow me home from work and save the $3500.00. I don't have. That semi is nice, though.

The PDs HK 53 visited my range the other saturday. FUN & LOUD in a small package.

I've had enough trigger time on a factory post sample UMP 40 to know I don't care for the S&W 40 round in that gun. A couple of months ago, I had the pleasure of shooting a .45acp UMP and they are VERY nice. I love the looks and layout of gun itself even if they seem a little large. Very light weight but that doesn't help dampen recoil on the .40S&W UMP.

IF not for the UNGODLY sticker price of a basic model I'd get one and SBR GG mag conversion it.

No time on a full auto UMP but I do have a semi (USC converted by HDPS). It is a great gun. It does kick more than my SBR AR45. I attribute that to the light weight. Also, I find that the sight path is just a tad high with a EOTech. It seems fine on factory sights, however.

I have fired a FA UMP a few times. My class 3 dealer owns one. They are pretty sweet IMO. Accurate and controllable. I wish I would buy one... :(
