Awesome - Is it a Maadi/Steyr gun? As you know parts kits with an original barrel are getting harder to find, especially a Bulgy kit. Your best bet is to source one from an auction site. As far as the build goes, it depends if you want a 7.62 or 5.45.
I have a AKS-74U build by Ted Marshall on a Norinco 5.56 receiver with a virgin Bulgarian kit.
Oh off the subject but do you still have the vented HK MP5 handguard you listed on GB? Looking for one in excellent or new condition and one for a HK G3K.
10 years ago, not so difficult to find
now, gunbroker at inflated prices or WTB
Any suggestions for new semi pistols/krinks that would
serve as a decent parts kit for a FA krink build?
Man that’s what every fucking body does. Leave it a full
Stock! Not only do I believe It’s worth more that way, but there are way less of them, and they are a hell
Of a lot nicer to shoot. I have a krink and bunch of full stock. Your better off leaving it alone in my opinion.
Matt,
I started a post earlier but deleted it. I am not AK builder, but maybe can help generate some options to consider if you are still intent on making project of it.
If wanting to stay more with the Bulgy Krink "Style" (true Krinks being the 5.45x39 AKS-74U triangle side-folder), current production Arsenal SLR107-58's are in stock at K-Var for $1850, and have chrome-lined HF barrels that could be cut. Stock is folder, but not triangle.
If content for Draco style, Arms of America has some WBP Lynx pistol kits available. A 4150V barrel is included in a head-spaced kit (there is kit without barrel and having fixed stock trunnion), but worth warning the included proprietary gas tube is machined aluminum. There is a more traditional steel gas tube option available for purchase, but limited in supply.

https://armsofamerica.com/wbp-lynx-short-gas-tube-w-wood-upper-handguard/ (should be proper steel gas tube)
Another pistol option may be to go route of a Yugoslavian M92 (or M85). New current USA ZPAP92 models are having chrome-lined CHF barrels and can still be found for about $1000-1200, but are built on the 1.5mm receiver trunnions.
Hope the info is helpful.

Good info - THANKS!
The SLR107-58 looks like a good starting point (except I would want a folding triangle stock & can-style flash-hider).
I like the look of old-style wood furniture vs. synthetic.
Thinking that maybe I should just grab a kits or two now for future options if I choose to go forward...

Hey Aaron,
I'm a total chucklehead when it comes to AK's. Is the advantage of a head spaced kit that I can just rivet the bbl/trunion into the receiver and be good to go? I'd like to put together a krinkish postie or SBR in 7.62x39.
