thread adapters

has anyone used a thread adapter instead of a different piston for a pistol suppressor?
such as these: https://hughesprecision.com/product-category/accessories/thread-adapters/

$20 for an adapter seems much better than $70 for a piston. But then I wonder if the added weight plays any factor in reliability/function.

should work. I am not a big fan of stacking on adapters though. Stacking tolerances and all.
