Guys,

Has anyone had any experience purchasing an HK P7 from CDNN? I would really love to have one as NIB ones are going for $1300-1500. I am wondering what is the true condition of those examples they claim as "Exc. to Like New" and "The Best Like New". How many rounds do these Exc. to Like New or The Best Like New examples have through their barrels. These are ex German police pistols right? Any input would be most appreciated.

No experience with CDNN,but if these are like most police trade-ins,they have probably not been shot much.Besides these are polygon barrels and they will withstand a lot of shooting.I don't believe these have the little heat shroud in the trigger guard like the P7M8,P7M13 so make sure to keep your trigger finger low in the guard as it gets pretty warm around the top.

CDNN is pretty good to deal with. In my experience (3 handguns) they were better than advertised. I wouldn't hesitate to deal with them.

You really need to go here: http://www.parkcitiestactical.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=login and go to "Cult of the P7" and " Saxony Police Pistols". These are Lower Saxony State Police Turn ins. They are graded A,B,C by INTERNAL cond. I bought a "B" as I plan on having it NP3'd or Hard Chromed by Mahovsky's. Mags are gonna cost you 50-55 a piece. This is the best 9mm pistol I have ever fired, bar none. The weak link on these guns is the original finish isn't good at preventing rust. I would just get an "A". Guy's are saying the NIB doesn't merit the price differential because most of the "A"'s ARE LNIB or NIB. The word is that there will be another big shipment in the near future as the Regular Saxony Police trade their guns after the Lower Saxony pistols are gone.

johhnywitt,

Thanks for the advice. We (my brother) got the pistol, a P7 PSP in grade A+ condition from GB. We spoke to the FFL personally he sent photos of the exact one we got, looks good. I have been shooting Black Ten's P7M8 for about 8 years. We would fire it so much the thing turned into a damn griddle even with my nomex gloves. The heat shield on the M8 is worthless IMO, because a pistol like that is for self defense unlike a full size 1911. So I figure the PSP will be great as it for defensive use only.

Where are these cheap PSP mags? We need like three I guess.

Try hkparts.net and hkspecialist.com for mags and scraper/brush. Yeah, they do get hot and they have a heel mag release. Your gonna have to buy a couple so when one heats up you can grab the other. I don't like the M8 side mag release (don't tell the guys at parkcties cause they get PISSED if you say anything about an M8. I figure the pistol was designed by Germans for German Contracts. They knew to put the mag release on the heel. Less likely to get an accidental mag drop and thinner too. I agree that the heat shield doesn't do a whole lot and I don't care for it aesthically. That being said, I needs me a M13.:lol

johnnywitt,

Thanks bud. So funny you make the comment about needing two P7s because of heat build up.:lol :lol I was mentioning the heat build up issue to my dad's friend and he said "that's why I have two." That guy has an M13 as well, sweet pistol.
