Hello all,

New member/longtime lurker with a question about some UZI mags I've had for years:

These don't fit any description I can find after a significant amount of searching, so I figured I'd ask the experts here. I have the usual assortment of IMI-manufactured 32-rounders, along with .45 and .22 conversion kit mags, but these have escaped my best efforts to identify. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Do they actually work?

Back in the day there was a company called "USA Magazines" that made and sold cheap knockoffs of all the popular magazines. Mag 1 & 3 looks like their work. Known for using too-thin sheet metal and poor reliability and durability.

Not going to lie, I have no idea! I have plenty of factory 32 rounders for my Model A, and have not used any of these mags. They've been sitting for years and I got tired of scratching my head and wondering what they are. I would imagine that USA mags are junk, but I'm particularly interested in what the "6" and "27" marked mags are.

There's a section in the Uzitalk library about magazine identification. Check it out. It's got lots of information.
I do know, that the one with the thick bottom plate, is a USA made mag, made of thinner metal, and is known to give feeding problems.
Welcome to Uzitalk by the way!!

Thanks very much! I did check that portion of the site, along with 99% of the internet, and couldn't find anything on identifying these mags.

Agree with FF that's a USA brand mag and were all over the place during the AWB.

They are hit or miss with any of their offerings.

One thing I did find out about them back then was they were awesome for conversions.

In other words if the mag didin't work in the intended gun I had luck converting them to other guns.

The 40 rounder is possibly a Argentina mag?

Rich

PS: welcome to UT

There isn't a 40 rounder posted. There is a mag with "40" stamped on it, but its a 32 rounder (and has Made in USA stamped on it). The ones with "6" and "27" stamped on them are of particular interest to me. These have eluded identification for some time.

Don't know. I've searched every permutation of "40 marked Uzi mag" I can think of with no luck. I know that IMI used to mark some of their mags with a 2 digit number at the bottom of the mag (Speaking in reference to my "6" and "27" marked mags, but every example I've seen also has the IMI logo there as well.

At the end of the day, it's not the end of the world if I can't identify these mags, but the collector/completionist in me wants to know!

I’ve got 1 32 round mag that is marked with ‘35’ on the rear spine and ‘32’ on the bottom of the right side (opposite the witness holes). It has the remains of Hebrew letters in paint so I’m guessing it was from Israel. It has no star mark or IMI logo on it. Yours may be an unmarked example like mine.

Can you post pictures? I'd like to compare font size and type to see if it's the same iteration of mag that I have.
