Big cans are better.
Yeah...I would never buy a Wolfman or any welded pistol caliber can.
While the MK9K core failed, it did in a 'good way'.
I posted this on AR15.com, "Oh..one more thing I forgot to add...I remember talking to Dr. Dater back in the day and he was telling me about the MK9 and MK9K design before '86 and there were concerns that silencers would be prohibited from future transfers to individuals like what happened to machine guns back then.
The MK9K design being a tube within a tube meant it was highly unlikely that the outer tube would be damaged from a baffle strike. The outer tube is serialized, has no threads and just sits there in compression from the end caps.
The failure occurred in the exact manner that Dr Dater anticipated, the core would be dumped downrange with no damage to the serialized outer tube. Actually no baffle strikes either but that is besides the point. The main point is the serialized part was unscathed."
Now contrast that with a welded can design. It is going to require re-welding it to fix and possibly it may not be fixable at all.
Also put the picture below on my site, detailing how Curtis Tactical does the same thing with his other other cans where the tube isn't threaded either.
