Here's tonite's progress report.
Here are the bushings I cut earlier on the lathe. I have cut them in half and welded the wings on them that will br drilled and have the tightening bolts attached. I like using irrigation well oil tubes for this cause they are threaded and when attached, they can't slip out of the housing if you want the bearing grab to be loose. A regular bushing could just slip out.
Here we have them dressed up a bit and mounted awaiting the addition of the yoke which will attach underneath the bottom half of the bearing assembly in the above picture.
Here we have the front and back halves of the yoke. These are 3/16" thick. I will bend a piece of 3/16" steel to the contour of the yokes and weld them solid along the edges and dress them up and weld them to the bottom of the bushing assemblies. At the bottom of the yokes will be a 3/8" plate which will be welded to them.
